What’s it all about?
First and foremost, it showcases rides of varying distances showing people new to the club, some of the beautiful routes available when you escape the confines of the city and explore the counties around us.
Second, it’s a celebration. We have training programs and other activities and events that help our members developer as riders. As we enter the fall riding season - we celebrate their accomplishments over the spring and summer with stretch rides to begin the fall.
12 month FIRST TIME Trial Membership included FREE (a $30 value) - if you are new to club riding, give us a chance. Try it, you’ll like it!
Opportunities to join our monthly meetings on interesting topics, great food and drink, open to all - chances to win raffle prizes from club sponsors.

The purpose of Escape New York has always been to stage a uniquely generous ride and festival that is so infused with club spirit; so much fun, so well-run, user friendly, thoughtfully detailed and welcoming that it elevates the club and the members that stage it, and helps the New York Cycle Club build a diverse membership and cement ties among the disparate groups that make it happen….riders, volunteers, sponsors, donors, community leaders and advocates.
If you’ve ever done the ride before - we trust you agree that we meet these objectives yearly and if you are new, count on it!

RIDE IS RAIN OR SHINE AND NON-REFUNDABLE
Pleases note - it is possible to ride safely and carefully in rain. Therefore, as a rule, our club has these policies for this ride because we have vendors we pay in advance who need to be paid and we lose money if a ride were cancelled and we had to give refunds. In extenuating circumstances: Lightning storms, tropical storms, flooding washing out roads, cyclones etc - the club board may decide to reschedule the event to a future date and roll riders over.)

Once again, Escape New York features custom-designed jerseys and a significantly expanded cycling kit — leveraging our new branding and NYCC kit design also available to buy here.
Last year, we added a Florescent Green color for our management team - but riders asked to be able to buy it as well. So we have that generally available, as well as the official colors of NYCC (NEW) and Ukraine colors too!
NOTE: We are partnering with a jersey vendor Pactimo once again for 2024. Sales will be through their shop and delivery to your home within 6 weeks of ordering and shop closing which at this point will be after the ride - see date noted.
VERY IMPORTANT: Sizing varies significantly between manufacturers and between years within manufacturers. Please read in detail the Pactimo Fit Guide before placing your order!!!

In earlier years, we held packet pick up in a rather crowded bike shop setting. It worked well for it’s time - people had fun, it was like a party almost, and you could buy old SWAG, new apparel etc. But you have told us you prefer to just show up and ride after a simple check in process.
Who needs an extra trip to get your packet before the ride? For those of you who buy apparel you will pay a reasonable amount for shipping and receive your items at the address you provide. Order more than 5-6 weeks before the ride and have a chance to be wearing it before and on the ride.
Are you interested in leftover items from prior years? We have some. E-mail enyinfo@nycc.org for a scheduled opportunity to look through what remains.
Bike Rentals Available!
We are happy to announce we’ve partnered with Unlimited Biking to offer top quality Cannondale bikes and helmets. Book your bike in advance at the Unlimited Biking website.
Unlimited Biking will bring the bikes to Sakura Park the morning of the ride for you to pick up and you can drop it off with their team at the end of the ride!
